Love That Leaf Wide Propagation Vase - Pink Lemonade

$14.90 NZD

When I finally sourced the perfect glass propagation vase for myself, of course I had to get extras for you guys too. Call me your guinea pig. You're welcome ;)

Turn your propagation station into an insta-worthy display with the perfectly sized Love That Leaf Propagation Vases. Not just pretty, also super practical. Such a good size! Big enough for roots to spread out and develop properly, and to avoid constant water top-ups, but small enough so delicate cuttings won't fall in and rot, plus they won't take up silly amounts of room on your bench or shelf. A perfect size to line up on a window-sill, plant shelf, desk-top or side-table.

They easily fit 2, 3 or more cuttings depending on stem size, but do look extra lovely with just the one cutting per vase. They come in 4 glass colours, Ice (clear), Pink Lemonade (a gorgeous shell pink), Turkish Blue (a chill ocean blue with a hint of green) and new Amethyst (a soothing purple). Get 1 of each for the perfect grouping.  Also available in Tall (16cms tall x 5cms wide), in the same colours to match.

The neck is about the same width as a standard test tube, but then there's all that lovely room below for roots to grow and spread out before potting up. The perfect size so you don't have to panic about constant water top-ups either, like I found I had to with test tube prop stations. The ledge at the top is perfect for delicate leaves to rest on.

The specs

Measuring a generous 11cms tall x 7.5cms wide, with the neck opening an ideal 2cm wide to keep leaves out of the water and upright. About the size of a standard coffee mug, but with a bigger water capacity. Nice and sturdy too. Made of glass but not scary-thin. They hold bang-on 300ml when filled to the top to avoid the annoying constant water top-ups with those very cute, but realistically too-tiny, other prop stations. Also available in Tall which hold 200ml and measure 16cm x 5cm (available separately).

Care for your cuttings

I dip my cuttings in Clonex to seal them and promote faster, healthier root growth, and I'm going to try IBAdex rooting hormone next to compare. I always add Foliage Pro every time I change the water. If you have Groconut on hand that's superb to add in also for a growth boost (Groconut's a growth booster and natural source of plant hormones, whereas Foliage Pro is a complete and balanced NPK+ fertiliser).

I have a few cuttings on the go all the time, so I make up a mix with 1 ml of Foliage Pro per 1.5 litres, add a 1/4 teaspoon of Groconut, give it a mix, then change everyone's water at once. If you're propping in winter, you might like to pop them on a heat mat too.

Clonex stops the risk of air bubbles getting up and blocking water uptake in the stem too, so you don't have to panic about cuttings being out of water (I do tend to cheat though and just pour fresh water in to displace the old water without removing my cuttings - so quick and easy and it helps aerate the water too so roots get an oxygen boost).

Care for your vase

As they aren't paper thin glass, I expect they are dishwasher safe, but I'd recommend playing it safe and just
rinsing them clean by hand when needed, just in case

*Vase only - plant cutting not included*

"Super impressed with this business. Something that is lost nowadays, is customer service. This however is not the case with Anna from “Love that Leaf”. Very happy with my purchase, very happy with the product information provided and very happy with the quick shipping and great packaging. Thanks!" Melayna Anderson

"By far the best customer care I've had in a long time. Website is such a wealth of information and the email with instructions for use after my purchase was fantastic. The pipette for measuring the correct amount was such a great inclusion, and the personalised message on the package was very cool. Definitely my go to shop for plant supplies now. Thanks Love That Leaf! A+++" Karyn Wilson
