Philodendron Micans - Triple Planted
This plant is pick up only. Please read the Plant Pick Up FAQ's at the end before you buy to avoid disappointment.
I am slightly obsessed with these leaves. So velvety soft and I love the colour change from new to mature leaves. One of my favourites in my own jungle for looking so different to the rest, and I can never resist a little pat on the way past those leaves.
New leaves come in pinky-bronze with an apricot-bronze underside, and slowly darken to a sage-green. A vining Philodendron with similar care to a heartleaf or Philodendron Brasil. Swipe through the photos and you'll see she has one leaf with a small pale spot from old damage that's healed, and there are minor blemishes on a couple of other older leaves. Nothing that will cause you to lose those leaves or cause any harm to the plant. You can take them off for the sake of aesthetics if you like, but I'll leave that up to you. She'll soon be so full and lush you won't notice them.
All photos are the exact same plant you're getting. This girl is triple planted with 3 active growth points. Micans can get leggy when mature so being triple planted instead will create a much fuller more glorious plant for you as she matures.
Currently in an 11.5cm Teku clear pot that allows for easy moisture level and root health checks. Planted and well rooted in premium-grade, custom blend Bioleaf Aroid Mix for the best start in life. Putting out multiple new leaves right now. Fed half-strength Foliage Pro with every water to avoid deficiencies.
Make sure to read the plant pick-up FAQ's below before you buy.
Philodendron Micans Care
If you have Pothos, Epipremnum or Philodendron happy and healthy, you'll have no trouble with this new addition to your jungle as Philodendron Micans have the same care requirements.
If you haven't had one before, here's the more detailed Philodendron Micans Care Guide. The short version is they prefer medium to bright indirect light. No direct sun. A chunky, free-draining aroid mix is preferred. Frequent, light fertilising is worthwhile when growing (if kept somewhere warm and bright, they'll grow all year round). Temperature range of around 12 to 24 degrees. Water when the top half or so of the pot is dry. They tolerate under-watering better than over-watering (if you know you over-water, get yourself a nice chunky free-draining mix).
You can stake them up or let them vine. You'll get much bigger leaves if you give them something to climb up. Easy to water propagate. Fast growing when happy. Like being kept lightly moist, not fully dry, definitely not wet or soggy. The leaves tend to curl and wilt a little when thirsty. Best to water before then. In a typical kiwi summer they're likely to need weekly watering, but it depends on your conditions.
*Plant pick up FAQ's*
Please read before you buy
Please only purchase provided you are happy with the following requirements. Please read in full before you buy. If your question isn't answered below, ask first before you buy, but do keep in mind as there's only one of this exact plant shown, so there's a chance you may miss out while waiting to hear back from me, but I'll do my best to reply quickly. Your question will likely be answered below, so read this first...
I want it! How do I get this plant?
Add to cart then check out like normal. It doesn't matter what address you enter when you checkout, so enter your address like usual. If you only have pick-up plants on your order, shipping will say 'PICK UP' as your only shipping option. This plant cannot be shipped to you sorry. Once paid for, it's all yours! Be sure to read the rest of the pick up FAQ's below before you go ahead.
Where is pick-up from?
One Tree Hill in Auckland. Once you've completed your order, I'll email you to arrange a pick-up day and time that suits you. Pick-up is required within 2 weeks of ordering. Pick-up times are between 8am and 8pm. I'll let you know the address and my mobile number.
Pick-up days: DEC > 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th or JAN > From the 10th onwards.
Please note it will be contactless pick-up, so your plant will be placed safely under cover for you to collect, on the day and time you choose. Just text me when you're on your way. Only your plant will be waiting for you with your name on it :)
What if I my plans change?
If pick-up needs to change closer to the time, all good, I'll give you my mobile number so we can keep in touch. As long as pick up is completed within 14 days of ordering.
Can I order other products for pick-up also?
Yes, you can, however a small packing fee will apply. If you order plants only, no extra fees apply. If you order plants plus other products, a fee of $5.50 applies. Just pick 'Standard Shipping' when you check out. Your order won't be shipped of course, that just covers the packing fee.
Can you put a plant 'on hold' for me?
No holds or rain-checks sorry. Only once your order is paid for is your plant is all yours. Adding to cart does not 'save' a plant for you, or stop others from buying it. I can't hold a plant. It really is 'first in, first served' and orders do need to be completed and paid for on the website.
Can someone else pick my order up for me?
Yes, they can. The only two people who know what day and time your plant will be ready for collection is you and me, so if you want to share those details with someone else so they can collect for you, all good, that's up to you. Just ask them to text me when they're on their way.

"Super impressed with this business. Something that is lost nowadays, is customer service. This however is not the case with Anna from “Love that Leaf”. Very happy with my purchase, very happy with the product information provided and very happy with the quick shipping and great packaging. Thanks!" Melayna Anderson
"By far the best customer care I've had in a long time. Website is such a wealth of information and the email with instructions for use after my purchase was fantastic. The pipette for measuring the correct amount was such a great inclusion, and the personalised message on the package was very cool. Definitely my go to shop for plant supplies now. Thanks Love That Leaf! A+++" Karyn Wilson
