Why Teku?

TEKU pots are know for their excellent drainagehigher clarity than most clear pots for better root and moisture visibility, better stability, and thicker materials used.

Size

The Teku 11 measures 11cms wide across the top

A smidge under 11cms tall

And 8.5cms wide across the base.

Holding roughly 1 litre of substrate (that doesn't allow for roots, so you'll need less than 1 litre).

Elho or TEKU or Rain?

Clear: Teku, Rain
Frosted: Elho
Thicker and sturdier: Elho
Best drainage: Teku
UV safe for indoor and outdoor use: Elho
Made of recycled plastic: Elho
Recyclable: Teku, Rain, Elho
Rounded edges on base to avoid scratching surfaces: Teku, Elho

Elho's Orchid Pots are thicker, sturdier, UV safe for outdoor and indoor use including in direct sun, and made of recycled plastic. They have a rounded base, same as Teku do, to reduce sharp pot edges scratching surfaces. However Elho are not completely clear like the Teku or Rain.

Rain are almost completely clear like Teku are, but Rain are thinner and not quite as sturdy as Teku or Elho. Rain pots don't have rounded edges like the Elho and Teku do. Rain also have vertical ridged lines running the height of the pot around all sides.

Teku: The main reason hobbyists prefer Teku is for the drainage. Better drainage is a key factor that reduces the risk of root rot. . Teku's drainage design increase water flow, helping get rid of excess water, and also increases air flow, bringing more vital oxygen for roots.

What cover pots do they fit in?

11cm TEKU match with:

12.5cm Elho Brussels cover pots
13cm Elho B.For Original cover pots
14cm Elho cover pots in Brussels, B. For Soft and Vibes

If you do go up to a 13 or 14 cover pot, you'll have a more room around the sides and may need a handful of pebbles underneath your TEKU pot, in the base of your cover pot, to lift the plant up if you prefer it to sit higher (good way to add weight for top-heavy plants too).

Teku's famous drainage

This size of TEKU pot has unique asymmetrical drainage channels which increases drainage and also makes them more stable on mesh and wire surfaces. They have these neat 'U' shaped slots you can push plant stakes in to for better stability to support your plant.

The placement and number of drainage holes provides faster, better drainage for happier roots and to help avoid root rot. It gets water out of your substrate much faster.

Plus the clever raised internal drainage help prevent roots sitting in residual water that collects at the bottom to avoid a perched water table. No wet feet! Both the tall drainage slots and domed drainage holes help increase aeration, reducing the risk of root rot.

The new design TEKU pots now have rounded edges to reduce the risk of scratching your nice plant shelves, and a new non-slip pattern on the base to help avoid slipping and sliding.
