Shipping and Delivery
Shipping and delivery FAQ's & updates
Shipping as normal this week (see details below)
When do orders WITHOUT plants ship?
Monday to Wednesday: Order by 8pm and your order will ship at 8am the next morning.
Thursday: Order anytime on Thursday for dispatch Friday after midday.
Friday: Order by midday on Friday for same-day dispatch Friday after midday. Orders placed after midday Friday ship 8am Monday morning.
When do orders WITH plants ship?
Plants ship Monday and Tuesday only. Orders placed between Tuesday and Sunday 8pm ship on Monday. Plant orders placed after 8pm on Sunday, and up to 8pm on Monday, ship on Tuesday.
What if I ordered both plants and hardware?
Non-plant products ship the same or next working day, and your plant will ship the following Monday or Tuesday. If we can, we'll ship everything together, and discount your shipping since it saves an extra parcel. If we can do that you'll get a refund for the discounted shipping after you order.
What's the normal delivery time?
Normal delivery is 1 to 2 working days after your order is shipped. Most orders are shipped the same or next working day. Add 1 to 2 days for rural addresses (allow 2 to 4 working days). The very top of the North Island and bottom of the South Island can sometimes add 1 day also (allow 2 to 3 working days).
How much is shipping?
Some items need special shipping. These are our normal rates below.
What are the shipping rates for hardware? (orders without plants)
Anywhere in NZ, non-signature
$5.50 for standard or $9.50 for rural
These are non-signature rates, meaning the courier has authority to leave your parcel if you're not at the address when they deliver. Plants and fragile products have different rates (below). When you combine plants & hardware in the same order shipping rates will combine (as plants usually ship separately to hardware). If I can send your items together I'll discount your shipping and ship together.
Anywhere in NZ, upgrade to Signature Required
$7.50 for standard or $12.50 for rural
Both the couriers and Love That Leaf are not liable for stolen, damaged or lost items after they have been delivered. Always select Signature Required for peace of mind, especially when purchasing high value, limited edition or limited stock items that can't be replaced.
What are the shipping rates for plants?
Plant rates vary based on region, standard, rural, or signature required
All regions from $12 per plant
Multi-plant orders have higher shipping rates as plants always ship separately (1 plant per box) due to the specialist plant shipping boxes we use.
What are the shipping rates for fragile products?
Fragile rates - for items like handmade pottery and oversize or heavy items like coffee table books - start from $10 per item for the North Island and $12 for the South Island. Rates vary depending on product type, size and region. Add to cart and the website will calculate fragile shipping for you once you've popped in your address.
Where can you deliver to?
Pretty much anywhere in New Zealand, standard or rural is all good, just not to a PO Box. Make sure to give an address where someone will be there during normal work hours (Monday to Friday 8 to 5).
Choose signature required for peace of mind, as once your parcel's been delivered, neither the couriers or Love That Leaf are liable for parcels that are stolen, damaged or lost after the item's been delivered.
With plants, the courier isn't going to baby your new plant at their place if you're not there. If no-one's home, they'll usually leave it outside somewhere for you to discover. Don't do that to yourself, or to your plant, please!
For most items you have the choice to pay for signature required. Unless you will be at the address, I recommend always choosing signature required.
My parcel says it's delivered, but I can't find it!
Things do go wrong sometimes. Luckily it's very uncommon. Before you panic, first ask your neighbours, look in your letterbox, and have a really good look around your property in case the driver left it somewhere clever out of sight.
The next step is to call your local courier depot as soon as possible. They can usually call the driver while you wait and ask if they recall where they left it. If you have no luck, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help.
Keep in mind if you didn't choose signature required, that gives the driver permission to leave your parcel if you're not home. Once it's been delivered, they've done their job, and both the courier and Love That Leaf are not liable for parcels that are stolen, damaged or lost after the parcel has been delivered.
If you can't find it, the courier company won't take responsibility unless you chose signature required, provided they can't provide a signature as proof of delivery.
Please don't assume I will send your order again for free. I can only do that if the courier company accepts responsibility. Don't take the risk. Unless you know somewhere will be at the address during normal working hours, always choose signature required for peace of mind. This is even more important for limited edition, high value, or limited stock items that may not be able to be replaced.
Do you offer click and collect?
For now, I'm online only, but hoping to offer our Auckland customers click and collect soon.
Where are you based?
Love That Leaf is based in Central Auckland, New Zealand.
Do you have a store?
Not yet, but retail premises coming soon. Just need to get past all this COVID-19 uncertainty first and see how things settle after that. We do the occasional pop-up store and have stands at plant expos. We'll let you know when the next one comes up.
