"Came back for two more, these are amazing and do exactly as they say they do. Compact and easy to put pretty much anywhere, I’ve screwed some into the underside of desks and hung some to shelves and my plants are looking SO MUCH HAPPIER."

What is a Grow Bar?
Grow Bars are full spectrum grow light kits perfect for your plant shelves, Ikea cabinets, and counter-tops under cupboards. They emit a bright, warm-white light to give your indoor jungle a boost.
Perfect for lower light areas all year-round or a light boost to get through winter. Ideal to supplement natural light for variegated plants too and for propagating cuttings and baby plants.
Grow Bars are designed for indoor plant hobbyists venturing into the often confusing world of grow lights for the first time. A budget-friendly, complete grow light kit, including built-in timer plus free USB to NZ plug adaptor included. Everything you need to light up your plants. Just plug and glow!
What's included in the kit?
Each Grow Bar measures 33cms long and this kit comes with 2 Grow Bars included (2 bars connected to one controller and one cord / plug). These kits are very much 'plug and play' with no fancy set-up, extra attachments or fittings needed. No separate purchase required of a USB to plug adaptor. NZ plug adaptor comes included free.
Kit includes
- 2 connected Grow Bars with full-spectrum, cool to warm white, LED light chips.
- 1.8 metre USB power cord.
- In-line controller with 4 light, 3 timer & 4 brightness settings.
- Screws or strong, self-adhesive tape included for attaching to shelves.
You can also use cable ties or plant velcro (not included), if you want a less permanent solution for attaching them. A great value-for-money starter kit for smaller collections that need a light boost. Everything comes neatly, safely tucked up in a plain cardboard box (shown in the photos). Plant shelves and plants not included.
Please note these lights don't come with directions and although very simple to use, you can come back to check this page for the directions if you're unsure (or email me).
The 2 Grow Bars can be used in-line for longer shelves, or up to 33cms apart for attaching to multiple levels or shelves, as the power cord (which is 1.8 metres long), splits into two cords (one to each light).
Built-in timer settings
The timer button (the button with the clock on it), can be used to set a 2 hour, 4 hour or 8 hour timer. You can also use these lights on manual on/off. When you press the timer button, a light will show that matches the colour of the time you selected.
2H written in green on the controller means 2 hours and the light will turn green.
4H written in blue means 4 hours and a blue light will appear when selected.
8H means 8 hours and a red light will appear.
Once set, the light will stay on for the selected time. It will turn off 2 or 4 or 8 hours later. Then turn on again at the time it was set the next day. If you manually turn the lights off (using the controller or at the wall), you'll need to manually turn them on and set the timer again.
Please note: The same as all grow lights with built-in timers, these are not compatible with external plug timers. For that you want the Sansi bulbs combined with a compatible lamp.
The sciencey stuff (and what it means for our plants)
Combined you have 10 watts and 5 volts for low energy consumption, with 48 LED full-spectrum chips per bar, with a light wavelength range of 380 to 780 nm. Nm stands for nanometers, which measures the wavelengths of the light produced.
Plants require light in the 400 to 700 nm range to photosynthesize, known as PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation). It's not the brightness (how it appears to us), but the PAR that matters to our plants.
Full-spectrum doesn't mean sunlight. It refers to the CRI or Colour Rendering Index being over 90, meaning the light produced is much the same as how we see colours in our natural world lit by daylight. Although the traditional 'neon pink' grow lights that combine red and blue to produce a pinky-purple light, are focused on the red and blue spectrum that benefit plants the most to support growth, not everyone likes that pinky glow! Grow Bars light up cool-white.

NZ Warranty
The Grow Bar lights have an extended one year NZ warranty. As a customer I've always hated the hassle and awkwardness of returns, so as a business I make it as fast, friendly and hassle-free as I can for you in the unlikely event anything goes wrong, plus I cover all costs (applies to NZ purchases and use within NZ only).
The warranty covers manufacturing faults or defects with the lights (not the free adaptor plug), meaning it covers things you did not cause or could not prevent, either intentionally or by accident. More about returns >
