What does Dyna-Gro Mag-Pro do?

Mag-Pro is a bloom booster that can be used alongside any fertiliser to provide plants with a boost to help encourage flowering and support larger, more vibrant, more fragrant, longer-lasting flowers. Also popular outdoors for roses, fruit and vegetables. Formulated for all flowering plants, but especially popular for Orchids, Hoya, Roses

What's in Dyna-Gro Mag-Pro?

Mag-Pro is a supplement high in flower-developing phosphorus, along with magnesium and sulphur, in a liquid form that's immediately available for plants to access during bud and flower formation.

When used with a complete fertiliser that already includes calcium - like Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro or Grow - Mag-Pro turns your fertiliser into a bloom machine! The magnesium boost that Mag-Pro provides means it can also be supplemented all year round for greener, more intense foliage colour for both green and variegated foliage.

Keep in mind no matter what companies might claim, no supplement or fertiliser alone can make a plant flower, only help create the perfect nutritional conditions to support  flowering (which takes a lot out of a plant). 

How much does one bottle make?

This is for the 236ml bottle. A little goes a long way. At the standard dose, this size makes over 350 litres once diluted. I add a free pipette with every Dyna-Gro order to make measuring easy. A standard dose is 1ml Mag-Pro per 1.5 litres water, but do check the full directions below. When mix-feeding with your choice of Dyna-Gro fertiliser (which is recommended), halve the dose to 1ml Mag-Pro per 3 litres water, meaning this 236ml bottle will make over 700 litres. 

When do you use Mag-Pro?

There are two popular methods:

#1 For bloom boosting: Add Mag-Pro to your fertilising schedule when you notice the first buds forming for the season, then continue adding Mag-Pro every time you water, until the last buds have flowered for the season.

#2 Throughout the growing season: Hobbyists also use Mag-Pro all year-round for the extra Magnesium to help boost foliage colour and support photosynthesis. This method can be used for all plants but is especially popular for Orchids and Hoya who benefit from Mag-Pro during both foliage and flowering stages.

If using RO, rain-water or de-ionised water, Mag-Pro should be added throughout growing season. 

What are the directions for Mag-Pro? 

Directions and dose depend on use. The recommended dilution rate varies from 1ml Mag-Pro per 1.5 litres of water, to 1ml per 3 litres water.

When used by itself: Although you'll get the best results supplementing Mag-Pro with fertiliser (even better with fertiliser + silicon), you can use Mag-Pro by itself to boost Phosphorus, Magnesium and Sulphur levels. Used alone for a nutrient boost, use Mag-Pro at the standard rate: dilute 1ml Mag-Pro per 1.5 litres water, every time you water.

When mix-feeding: Use your fertiliser at the recommended dose, but halve the dose of Mag-Pro (the easiest way to do that is by doubling the water). For example, if using Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro fertiliser, and ProTeKt silicon supplement, you would use 2mls ProTeKt + 2mls Foliage Pro + 1ml Mag-Pro per 3 litres water, every time you water.

Please note when mix-feeding: Mix-feeding dilution rate (above) is based on staying within the Dyna-Gro family of products, as Dyna-Gro fertiliser is complete and balanced. If your go-to fertiliser is not complete and balanced, use Mag-Pro at the standard dilution rate of 1ml per 1.5 litres water.

What the label says: Dyna-Gro is made in the USA so the label can get a bit confusing converting gallons to litres. The label gives you the standard dose as from 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 a teaspoon per 1 gallon of water. One US gallon is 4.5 litres, and 1 teaspoon is just under 5mls, so converted and rounded, that ends up just under 1ml to 2mls Mag-Pro per 3 litres water.
