What's included in the kit?

Kit comes with clear cover with adjustable air vent, grow tray and matching saucer all included. Modular kit so you can use the lid, base or saucer separately or together.

The clear lid has built-in ventilation adjustment with an air valve to regulate air supply and temperature balance while keeping pesky pests out. UV filtered plastic can handle full sun no worries (just keep in mind the temperature inside your grow house will get much warmer). Well worth getting one of those mini 2 in 1 hygrometer and thermometers to keep an eye on temperature and humidity inside your grow house.

Plant straight in to the grow tray (includes drainage holes) or the medium fits 12 or more mini grow pots depending on their size. Removable water reservoir below makes bottom or top watering easy. 

Propagation tips

When propagating in water or substrate, I dip my cuttings in rooting gel first (my current go-to is the Yates Clonex), for much faster root formation. The sooner those roots start to grow the less the chance of losing your cutting to leaf rot.  Plus Clonex is an antifungal treatment too for extra protection.


For soil propagation, I generally use a mix of either half potting mix with half hydromix (the Egmont Hydromix with 50% vermiculite and 50% perlite is really good), or straight hydromix, or half succulent potting mix and half hydromix, depending on the plant's preference for moisture vs free draining. I always add drainage mesh before potting up for no mess or soil loss when watering.

The more free-draining your substrate is, or the more inorganic it is (like Perlite), the more vital fertilising becomes to avoid deficiencies during early root and leaf growth (keep in mind some nutrient deficiencies, like calcium, cannot be reversed later, which can cause stunted and deformed growth).

Get yourself a good quality NPK food rated for both soil and hydro, like Dyna-Gro's Foliage Pro or Plant Runner's Indoor Plant Food and feed every time you water. In Foliage Pro I use the 1ml per 1.5 litre dose (or 1ml per 3 litres for light feeders), and in Plant Runner I use 1/2ml to 1ml per 1 litre depending on the plant's needs.
