Crew Mini Propagation Pot - 7.5cm x 6.5cm SQUARE - WHITE
Not quite as teeny weeny as the Round Crew Mini, but close. The Square Mini pot in White is both cute and practical. The perfect size for propagating cuttings and growing seedlings without taking up a tonne of room, and more importantly, less soil or substrate means less chance of root rot for your babies. Love this size for succulents too.
A mix of decent drainage slots and holes in the base. Not as big and free-draining as the drainage holes in the round Crew Mini, so you should get away without having to use drainage mesh. Best used with a free draining mix (depending on the baby plant inside). I make my own mix of potting soil and hydromix (which is vermiculite and perlite combined) for a nice combo of water retention but still airy and free draining. Easy peasy.
These look awesome for a collection of succulents by the way. I love them with Lithops in particular (otherwise known as bum plants in my household - I blame my 11 year old son's sense of humour).
The Crew Square measures 7.5cms tall x 6.5cms across the top (or 9cm measured across the diagonal), and 5cms across the base (or 6.5cms measured on the diagonal).
Made of a rigid plastic that's still thin enough to give you enough flex to easily, gently squeeze babies out when they're ready for an upgrade. Give the pot a wash and you're ready to re-use. They may be super cheap, but they're definitely tough enough to use again-and-again. Not a throw-away.
My Prop Combo
This is my own combo that works a treat for my cuttings... I dip in Clonex rooting gel (get the purple one), give them a soak or water with Groconut, a natural rooting and growth hormone from coconuts, then to keep up that nitrogen and calcium for faster growth, stronger roots, stems and leaves, I water with a little Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro mixed in (about weekly, depending on water requirements and substrate). That's the stuff nurseries use to get babies big faster ready for sale.
*WARNING* Remember when using any growth booster - such as a hormone powder, water concentrate, dip, or cloning paste - your plant will much more quickly deplete its own stores, as well as the nutrients in the soil, to fuel that rapid growth.
Some nutrients are mobile - your plant will move them around where they're needed - but some (like calcium) are immobile. That means once there's a deficiency, that root / stem / leaf's cells will be deficient for life. Calcium is not a deficiency you want in a newly propped cutting!
To avoid that happening, keep feeding your NPK-type plant food when using growth boosters, or that initial growth spurt can result in a deficiency. I personally use Foliage Pro (linked above).
Size? Tick. Drainage? Tick. Price? Tick!
Go on, get a few, in white or black, or mix the white square with the white round, and get your grow on!

"Super impressed with this business. Something that is lost nowadays, is customer service. This however is not the case with Anna from “Love that Leaf”. Very happy with my purchase, very happy with the product information provided and very happy with the quick shipping and great packaging. Thanks!" Melayna Anderson
"By far the best customer care I've had in a long time. Website is such a wealth of information and the email with instructions for use after my purchase was fantastic. The pipette for measuring the correct amount was such a great inclusion, and the personalised message on the package was very cool. Definitely my go to shop for plant supplies now. Thanks Love That Leaf! A+++" Karyn Wilson
