What are they for?

These small, reusable stem clips - also called Orchid Clips or Hoya Clips - secure your plant's stems to stakes and supports. These clips work with mesh type support poles too, like the Grow Vertical and Gentle Garden brands, as well as plant stakes like Botanopia, wooden sticks, bamboo stakes, and plastic stakes like the Elho Trellis and Crew Trellis.

What size are they?

These are the smaller size claw clips made for plants (the bigger ones you sometimes see are made for our hair). These measure just under 1.5cms x 1.5cms, a perfect fit for the teeth to slip around and inside the mesh on the Grow Vertical poles (swipe through the photos to see them used with a stake versus a mesh pole).

Which plants are they good for?

These clips are a great size for most thinner to medium thickness stems, including Hoya, Pothos, Philodendron, Epipremnum, Orchid flower spikes and more. For thicker stems go for
plant velcro instead.

Popular for securing indoor climbers with finer stems, like Hoya and Ivy around loops and shapes. And of course for securing Orchid bloom spikes to stakes, which is where they get their 'orchid clips' name from. Check out the photos showing the clips being used to secure a finer-stem Hoya Australis Lisa and a Syngonium Mojito.

These are a dark green colour to blend in with stems, and have 3 interlocking 'teeth' either side, on a metal spring that easily opens and closes, making them super easy to reposition. No fiddly wrapping around, tying or untying needed.

Why choose to buy from Love That Leaf?

100% NZ

Hi! I'm Anna, the owner of Love That Leaf. When you buy from me you're supporting a local, family business (and fellow houseplant hobbyist). Love That Leaf is a registered NZ business and is 100% NZ owned and operated. Orders ship daily, Monday to Friday, from Auckland. Usual delivery is 1 to 3 working days NZ wide.

I'LL PUT IT RIGHT

I stand by everything I sell. I'll always help if something goes wrong. When you choose to buy from a registered NZ business (like me), you're also covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act, unlike overseas purchases or private sales where you might end up stuck with no rights if anything arrives damaged or stops working.

SUPER SUPPORT

I'm here for support and advice anytime, even if you haven't bought from me yet. A lot of lovely people helped me along my plant journey, and I want to pay it forward. Please don't hesitate to ask for help. No obligation at all to purchase.

5 YEARS

I started Love That Leaf in August 2020,  currently have over 2,000 independent, verified 5 star reviews and have sent over 30,000 orders to houseplant hobbyists NZ-wide. Thank you for your support!
