NEW model from H2O
Portable Plant Humidifier
Give your plants the humidity they need, where they need it. Locate your plants in the best position for their needs, and your humidifier can now go to them!
The portable, cordless, rechargable H2O 300 offers a long 6 hours run-time, day or night mode and larger area coverage than you'd think given its compact size.
Do your plants need a humidifier?
Humidity is about more than just spoiling your plants. Many of our favourite indoor houseplants come from naturally tropical habitats with high humidity all year-round.
The Amazon rainforest is home to many of the houseplants we keep in the hobby, where humidity ranges from mid-70's in the dry season to high-80's in the wet season.
Our heated and air conditioned homes can cause humidity-loving houseplants to suffer.
Heat pumps and air conditioning, DVS and HRV all strip moisture from the air. Especially in winter where humidity can drop down to the 30's inside a heated home.
Even we suffer when air gets that dry. Low humidity can cause dry skin and irritated mucous membranes, as well as a higher risk of colds and asthma.
TIP: I'd highly recommend getting your plants a hygrometer also along with your humidifier to keep an eye on humidity highs and lows.
Symptoms to watch out for
Commons signs to watch out for that your plants are asking for more humidity include:
- leaves with browning, moving inwards from leaf tips and margins,
- curling or cupping, especially inwards (a sign of leaves conserving water),
- wilting even when you're meeting their watering needs via their roots,
- buds that fail to develop or drop before they open (bud blast),
- flowers that shrivel soon after opening.
Long run-time
Up to 6 hours cordless run-time on single-outlet mode, or 2 hours on the high-output mode for a fast boost in humidity. Low-water auto shut-off for safety.
What's in the box?
The H2O 300 comes everything shown in the photos:
- Box with H2O 300 300ml humidifier,
- Rechargable battery (installed in top),
- 4 wicks, 2 installed + 2 spare refills,
- USB C to USB A charging cord.
Small size, large area
Rated for areas 10m3 to 20m3. That's an area or room up 3m x 3m depending on ceiling height.
2 mist modes
Single Mode cycles 3 seconds on, shifting between the two outlets, for constant, medium output and a much longer run-time.
(up to 6 hours on a full charge with full water reservoir)
Dual Mode provides a high output, constant mist to very quickly boost humidity with both outlets running at the same time but with a shorter run time of 2 hours
(although I find mine routinely goes for 2 & 1/2 hours on a full charge with full reservoir)
Auto low-water shut-off
This model switches itself off automatically when the water level gets too low so you can leave it running without keeping an eye on it.
Even if water is left in the reservoir, tip out leftover water and store dry, then refill with fresh water before the next use.
(otherwise mineral salts from your water can build up over time and cause avoidable issues over time)
Day or Night Mode
A short press of the button at the back switches mist mode, from dual to single.
A long press turns on the night light, producing a soft, warm-white glow that lights up the water reservoir.
Quick charge
USB charging cord included (USB C to USB A).
Use a standard USB plug adaptor (not included) to charge, or plug straight into a power board with standard USB A outlet.
Works with standard USB A adaptor plugs (the type often used to charge phones, portable speakers and other rechargable appliances and devices)
Before first use
The unit will come with a short amount of charge BUT should still be charged for a minimum of 2 hours BEFORE first use.
A full charge from empty takes 3 hours depending on your adaptor, or you can charge until the charge indicator light on the back turns from red to green.
Size: 1.65cm tall x 8cm wide
Ideal size to nestle in among your plants, right on your plant shelves, measuring 16.5cm tall and 8cm wide.
Instructions: How to set up your H2O humidifier
This model requires two standard size wicks (4 wicks included).
When you get your humidifier, here's what to do:
1. Unbox your humidifier and take out the installed wicks (twist the wick covers to remove the wicks). Soak wicks in water for half an hour (this is only required from new or after storage).
2. While the wicks are soaking, plug in the charging cord (included), and charge for minimum 2 hours or until the charge indicator light changes from red to green.
3. Install the soaked wicks and twist-on the wick covers (take care not to lose the wick springs inside the wick covers), and you're ready to go!
4. Peel off the mist outlet cover and unplug from charge. A short press of the function button on the back turn on / off your humidifier, and switches between mist modes. A long press turns on / off the night light.
Maintenance
H2O humidifiers are lower maintenance than most due to their design, but still require regular maintenance.
Make sure to read the Humidifier Care Guide in full BEFORE you buy any humidifier.
I'll also email you those set-up directions above, and a link to that care guide after you order.
This model fits both the Standard and Long wicks, just trim the wicks down to size to fit.
TIP: keep an old wick to match length when changing to a new wick.
Humidifier FAQ's
How often should I change the wicks?
Wicks need replacing every 3 months or so. Most humidifiers come with one set of wicks. Some come with extra refills included also (check the product page for your model). Wicks can last shorter or longer depending on mineral content in water used, air quality, cleaning and frequency of use. Check wicks regularly for discolouration as a sign they need to be changed.
Can I leave my humidifier on charge overnight?
No, it's best not to leave any rechargeable device on charge longer than needed or over-night. Over-charging can overheat batteries, reducing the capacity and lifetime of any rechargeable battery. Like most phones, the life of a rechargeable device is typically determined by the battery, same for your humidifier.
How do I store a humidifier when not in daily use?
If you're putting a humidifier away to store for a while, store it empty, clean and charged. Same as any rechargeable product, you want to store a cordless humidifier partially charged, at about 40% to 50%. Either do this by running it for half the usual time, or charge it from empty for half the usual time (check usual run-time / charge-time on the product page for your model). Then empty, clean and dry it before putting in storage.
Rechargeable batteries slowly discharge over time. If storing longer-term (more than 2 to 3 months), recharge to 40% every couple of months.
Check the care guide here > for more advice for required maintenace and for battery care to extend the life of your humidifier.
Warranty
Every H2O humidifier bought direct from Love That Leaf comes with a 6 month NZ warranty.
In the unlikely event something goes wrong, please contact Love That Leaf right away to help put it right (even if it's outside the warranty period we can often help with trouble-shooting).
The warranty covers manufacturing faults and defects for 6 months, covers personal use within New Zealand, and only covers products bought new and direct from Love That Leaf. It does not cover wear and tear or user error (even if accidental).
Please read and follow the set-up and care guide emailed after ordering and linked on the product page.
Regular maintenance is all that is required. Do not try to open up the sealed top or tamper with the mist outlets as it will void the warranty.
